Iolite

Iolite can be fashioned into beautiful gems. Iolites can be cut as Faceted or Cabochon Gems. Iolite falls at 7-7.5 on the Mohs Hardness scale. Due to its distinct cleavage in one direction, its toughness is only fair, making Iolite vulnerable to breakage. Iolite is rarely treated, coming by its Beautiful Blues & Violets Naturally.
