Emerald is a Green Variety of the Mineral, Beryl. Emerald, known as the stone of Spring, is generally associated as May's Birthstone and the Gem for the 20th and 35th Wedding Anniversaries. This stone has a Mohs hardness of 7.5–8. Most emeralds are highly included, so their "durability" is classified as generally poor, which makes it best suited for Pendants, Necklaces, & Earrings. If set into a Ring, the Ring should be designed with Stone Protection in Mind.
